Human Safety Issues in Livestock and Poultry Production Environments (PDF Format)

Similar to the issues covered in the lesson on health, issues of safety also have the potential to affect those most closely associated with
production: producers, employees, and their families. As mentioned in the health lesson, this lesson will also discuss selected concerns arising from the interaction of persons not directly involved in production processes who have the potential to be impacted by agriculture production activities.

Human Illness and Disease Issues in Livestock and Poultry Production Environments (PDF Format)

This lesson seeks to expand individual awareness of environmental hazards commonly found in livestock and poultry production, to include
specific human health issues present that have the potential to affect those most closely associated with production units: producers, employees, and their families. The issues presented may also impact neighbors and the general public, given proper circumstances. “Potential” in this context refers to the possibility that any particular condition or combination of conditions may result in illnesses or diseases.
