Thank you for your interest in attending and presenting at this year's NIFS Conference. Please review the instructions below to complete the corresponding form for your presentation request.

ABSTRACTS

PROGRAM PRESENTATIONS

CALL FOR PAPERS, ABSTRACTS
Use this form to submit an abstract to make a presentation in any of the following categories:

2014 ISASH Abstract Form

Oral Presentations are generally limited in time (20 minutes maximum; see Program Presentation section for exception) with a short period for questions and answers.

Technical Paper:
Presentation of research and/or theory-based evaluations.
All Technical Papers will be reviewed for the NIFS Research Achievement Award by the NIFS Research & Development committee. There are up to three awards available in 2011. One of those awards will be made to a student presenting at the conference. Criteria for the NIFS award will include research methodology, outcome/results, relevance/timeliness, long term impact, and potential collaborators. In addition to the recognition by the NIFS president, awardee will receive $500 for registration and travel expenses to the symposium.
Panel/Roundtable:
Authors may request a panel or roundtable session to report on a single topic from various viewpoints or a collection of closely related topics on a specific aspect of agricultural safety and health that they may feel is of interest to NIFS members.
 
Research-in-Progress:
Authors may report on progress of current research for which results are not yet known, pilot projects, etc., which they may feel is of interest to NIFS members.  In addition to the usual information, researchers are asked to specifically address potential practical field applications of the research or theory-based evaluation projects .  An abstract by the due date is required to be considered for this type of presentation.   A paper is expected to accompany this category of presentation.
 
Educational/Informational:
Authors provide descriptions of ag production/rural safety and/or health educational programs, campaign, and/or materials presented to producers, producers groups, health officials, agency or elected officials at the county, regional or state level that may be of interest to NIFS members.

Poster or Educational Display-Freestanding boards will be provided for presenting poster.

Poster:
Authors can provide a description of research results, educational programs, campaigns, pilot projects, and/or research-in-progess, etc., that may be of interest to NIFS members.
   
Educational Display: Generally used for highlighting a product or vendor that has a safety or health interest or value for NIFS members.

Abstract Form Completion:

1. Use the pull down list under "Type of Paper" and select according to the definitions above.
2. Enter the "Title" of the presentation.
3. Complete the "Author" and "Author Affiliation" boxes as directed.
4. Enter your text that corresponds with the title of each of the four text boxes.

a. Purpose/Objectives - 666 characters*
b. Methods/Efforts - 999 characters*
c. Results/Findings - 999 characters*
d. Application to Field/Research - 666 characters*

*characters include periods and spaces.

5. FINAL STEP - click on the Submit button at bottom of page. After successful submission a confirmation page will appear.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON FORM COMPLETION: The boxes on this form will only accept a certain amount of text (as noted under #4 above). If all of your text is not accepted within a particular box you will need to revise your text accordingly so it will fit. We suggest you write your text in a word processing program and then paste that text into the corresponding box.

We have titled the text boxes on each form to correspond with the information requested in the Call for Papers information you received, it is the same type of information that has been requested by NIFS in recent years.

PROGRAM PRESENTATION SUMMARY
Use this form to submit an abstract to make a program presentation summary:

2014 Program Presentation Form

ISASH seeks to add to the overall value of the current conference format by offering the opportunity to present individual programs or program segments being provided at the local, regional, and/or state level. Presentations allow attendees to:

1. See actual program or program components,
2. Receive background information and lessons learned from the experience(s) of the presenter(s), and
3. Receive the materials and information needed to present programs in their own locale.

Program presentations can be of any length up to fifteen to thirty (15-30) minutes.

Program Presentation Summary Form Completion

1. Enter the "Title" of the presentation.
2. Complete the "Presenter" and "Presenter Affiliation" box.
3. Enter your text that corresponds with the title of each of the next four boxes.

a) Presentation. Please limit the text to 150 ( approximately 999* characters) words each.

b) Presentation Method. Please limit the text to 150 (approximately 999* cahracters) words each.

c) State the length of your session for presentation. Session length is up to forty-five (45) minutes.

d) Please identify the target audience for the presentation and the materials you will provide.

4. FINAL STEP - click on the Submit button at bottom of page.

After successful submission a confirmation page will appear.
